Unit 1
From the spread of early man around the globe, the Neolithic Revolution, early river valley civilizations, and the classical civilizations; foundations for the modern world begin here. Civilizations first rose around major river systems in Asia and Africa. Classical Greek philosophers and statesmen laid the groundwork for the Western World. The three dynasties of classical China rivaled the civilizations of Europe; including Rome. Regions such as Africa, the Middle East, and south Asia would establish civilizations of their own and the world became more connected through trade and conquest; this unit provides the foundation for all.
